SANKOLO KAMUE DOLO, LPN, BA, MPNA

After a while, I decided to move to Minnesota to attend college. I graduated with an Associate of Applied Science AAS/ (LPN) from the Northland Community and Technical College, Thief River Falls, Minnesota in 2011. I later enrolled at the Metropolitan State University, St. Paul in the College of Individualized Studies program with an emphasis in Public Health Administration and graduated with a BA in 2014. After the completion of my bachelor’s program, I then enrolled at Metropolitan State University College of Management and Community Services Master’s program in Public and Nonprofit Administration and earned a Master’s degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration (MPNA) in 2018. I live in St. Paul, Minnesota, and have worked in the Health and Human Services field for 16 years. PIERRE

A native from Franche-Comte-France and a US citizen, Pierre always maintained close ties with Africa. First his grand aunt owned and operated the Pharmacie Blanchot in Dakar, Senegal. Then, his oldest friends, Frederic de Saint Opportune organized and race “le Rallie de l’Amitié” in Morocco for many years before killing himself during a fatal car accident while racing the “Rallie” he created. Finally, Pierre had many connections with Friends from N’Djamena, Tchad, and xx Cameroon during his upbringings in boarding Schools in both Saint Michel des Perrais (Sarthe) then Notre Dame (Dijon). In the United States, it was only normal for Pierre, to maintain a nice network of friendships with friends from Africa.
After completing high school and completing his mandated military service in the French Airforce as a Nurse, Pierre moved to the United State to Minnesota in 1985, where he completed his Bachelor or Art at the University of Minnesota, then his Master of Business Administration at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. Pierre paid his way to college and university working on campus, then running his own translation business. Upon graduation, he continued running his translation business until he joined academic environment. Pierre taught for various community college and undergraduate institutions such as Normandale Community College, University of Saint Thomas, The White Earth Tribal and Community College, and Saint Cloud State University.
Pierre is married to Susan Maureen Connors Callies and has two wonderful stepchildren, Jessica and David. Because he enjoyed cooking very much, Pierre acquainted Susan and many Americans to French gourmet food in a matter of months. Pierre and Susan kept for many years an open-door policy welcoming people from all over the world in their house. Friends from Nepal, India, Tunisia, Australia, Argentina, Mexico, Iran, and more always found their way around a meal at their home. The key: sharing culture and crossing the cultural bridge make our life so much richer. As Benjamin Franklin once said: “A good bottle of wine produces more miracle than a church full of Saints.” That is because I don’t think we ever saw a church full of Saints yet.
Pierre also holds a nearly completed Master of Sciences in Geographic Information System and a graduate Certificate as a full stack developer. He was planning to complete a Ph.D. in Geographic Information System, but his project was cut short by the deteriorating health of Susan, his wife.
